Lesson 1
Introduction to visual programming- unplugged
Students to work in groups of 2 to draw a map on grid paper with obstacles. Students to use the scratch coding flash cards attached to decide how best to navigate through the map without hitting obstacles.
Lesson 2
Introduction to sphero and lightning lab

Students to work in groups of 5 to have sandpit time learning how to move the sphero in drive mode and using code
Once students are able to use the sphero challenges will be set up sat as:
tracing a square (drawn on carpet with chalk or masking tape).
programming the sphero to go from a- b
programming the sphero to travel around the classroom without hitting any furniture
Lesson 3
Programming sphero to navigate through an obstacle course
Set up an obstacle course. Students plan in teams how to get through the obstacle course without hitting any objects.
Each team takes a turn at getting around the obstacle course.
