In a primary setting we have buddy class arrangements with younger year levels where we often share picture books. A popular favourite is 'Dear Zoo' by Rod Campbell. Using this text as a springboard for my mid/upper primary students I would encourage students to write their own version of this simple and engaging text. I then would get them to storyboard and plan out their coding for use in scratch to create a digital/animated book from their own narrative version. I think this would provide a multi faceted approach to the writing, reading, creating and presenting process that would directly link with digital technology. This process whilst I envisage to be lengthy, could culminate in a buddy class sharing. As for assessment it may include: teacher/peer/ buddy feedback.
