Sharon WILLOUGHBY▸ U2: Algorithms & Programming

I selected the coding activity in the area of sport because I have an interest in this, can relate to it easily and feel that it is a topic that appeals to a wide range of people. I enjoyed learning about the different coding activities and how they are used in both coaching, self analysis and gaming. I could relate to each of the experiences and starting seeing patterns in how to build the codes. My challenges were remembering each of the steps and where to find each of the blocks for coding as some are hidden below the screen and if I hadn't been directed to them I would have not known they were there. I enjoyed adding the additional features to my code to personalize it and add interest. This activity could be used in the classroom to develop games to motivate students to learn basic skills. It is an excellent means of developing problem solving, communication, persistence and resilience skills in both learners young and old. I completed this activity in isolation and I look forward to working with others to explore some of the other topics to develop and practise my skills.
