Task 3: Digital Tech + Maths!
Working in partnerships, I had my Year 4 class plan a maze each on carpet using masking tape which a Sphero was to complete. The maze needed to contain a set of criteria (e.g. designated angles and lengths, stop and draw shapes, change colour, include a sound etc) that I differentiated based on each partnership.
They then had to draw their map to scale and label the angles into their Maths books. Students then had to get their Sphero to complete the challenge successfully.
As a final activity, they had to build a chariot using recycled materials that could safely contain an egg and be towed by the Sphero. They then had to recode their Sphero to get their chariot to complete the maze.
