Follow, describe and represent a sequence of steps and decisions (algorithms) needed to solve simple problems (ACTDIP004)
Using 'Cat and Fish' by Joan Grant have the students devise a set of instructions from cat to fish to find him in the maze (page 5 in book). A 'mock' maze could be set up outdoors using large equipment and natural features available. The students could be given large sheets of paper cut into strips to represent the blocks on which they write the instructions OR draw the symbols to represent the movement.
