Jean M▸ U3: English Connections

Similar to many others here, I have recently worked with Year 2 students looking at sequencing with fairy tales. Initially we read the story and students re-enacted the story. Then, in PowerPoint, they identified main events of the story by deleting nonessential slides and ordered the slides in sequential order. This lead to interesting discussions in the classroom as some students interpreted slides differently to others, and therefore ordered them in different sequences. Students then coded their Blue-Bots to retell the story.

Future plans would include to have students story map their own narratives, write their narratives, create images for the Bee Bot mat using peripheral devices and then code their Blue-Bots to tell their original story.
