One way to get digital technology in mathematics was the use of algorithms in mapping.
I tasked the students to use algorithms to direct another student to a particular place in the playground. The students had to create a map, then discover how their partner has to turn (in a certain direction) before walking in that direction (in a certain number of steps). The students discovered several ‘bugs’ they had to fix in order for this activity to work. It was a great learning experience for them.
