I taught a class of year 5 students and have students choose a topic to argue about (such as environment, recycling or lifestyle). They researched, planned and written a persuasive text that they later have to put onto large post-it to show how they will connect their text between the Scratch scenes. I first got students to create each scene, then characters and last input their writing from their scratch planning sheet. More advance students included additional objects, player interactions and sounds/voices in their scratch presentation. All students completed this in peers with structured goals and roles for each person, and were encouraged to communicate and solve bug (problems) together.
