Using a Bee Bot mat, place obstacles on the mat, e.g. cars, blocks toys. Build tunnels/ bridges using blocks. Have a visual representation of a lake or other obstacles. Get children to navigate the Bee Bots to different positions, e.g. Get the Bee Bot to the flower. One child will be the navigator who will program the bee bot using the typical computer language of u, down, turn left and right. Another student will be a roadside reporter who reports in a more descriptive style, e.g. the Bee bot is going past the tower, the bee bot just went under the bridge, the bee bot went over the lake. This would be a good way to show styles of language needed depending on the audience.
